Mayor Rommel C. Arnado of the Municipality of Kauswagan, Lanao del Norte accepted the hosting of the 6th Organic Asia Congress on 4-11 June 2023 during the closing ceremony of the 5th Organic Asia Congress and the International Federation on Organic Agriculture Movement (IFOAM) Organics Asia 10th Year Anniversary on 16 October 2022 at Goesan County, Chungbuk-do Province, South Korea.
In his acceptance message, Mayor Arnado highlighted that despite living in a diverse community and the use of different strategies the Organic Asia Congress brings together and creates a bond that strengthens shared aspirations. In addition, Mayor Arnado expressed the excitement of the Municipality of Kauswagan and the Philippines to welcome the international organic agriculture community in June 2023.
Moreover, Department of Agriculture Undersecretary Zamzamin Ampatuan officially received the Organic Asia Flag witnessed by Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) Assistant Secretary Elizabeth Lopez de Leon, National Organic Agriculture Program Coordinating Office Director Bernadette San Juan, and the Philippines delegation on behalf of Mayor Arnado.
